Mérida has an international airport (MID) a few minutes away from your hotel room. You can also fly directly to Cancun from North and South America, Europe and Asia. After Landing in Cancun, you can take a 2 and a half hours bus to Mérdia that costs 15USD. There will be people from our team waiting for you in both airports, making sure you arrive at the hotel without any complications.
The Summit’s activities start on June 13 in the afternoon so that you can get there on that same day. If you have a long flight, you can also get there by June 12 and get a good night sleep before the Summit.
The activities end on the morning of the 16th. You could get back on that same date, or stay one more night to further enjoy the city.
If you decide to be part of our Community Contribution Program, you should fly on the 21st or the 22nd.
Yes, we have already made contact with Mexican Embassies from around the globe! Firstly, make an appointment with your closest Mexican Embassy, they will be expecting you! Please contact our Delegate Relations Team as soon as you make your appointment to avoid any possible setbacks.
Unfortunately, we cannot cover the expenses of the attendees, but we all know how difficult it is to be a student with big ambitions.
That’s why we want to make sure nothing is holding you back from attending the International Student Energy Summit 2017. We have put together a Delegate Relations Team who will help you find fundraising opportunities through local institutions, university programs, and bursaries. When you register, be sure to select the Financial Assistance option so you can fill out the application.
On the other hand, we’ve build partnerships with companies and institutions that are very interested in preparing the leaders of tomorrow. That’s why we can grant significant discounts to your Admission Fee, covering accommodation, meals, local transportation and even some social events 😉
Finally, some of our partners are willing to go even further to get you to Mérida, by launching contests and bursaries where you can win a full flight and Admission Fee Bursary. Check this page to stay updated on any new opportunities.
This is our fifth Summit, and in each one, most of the students get funding to attend from local institutions. Our Delegate Relations Team gathers all the cumulated knowledge of hundreds of students like you that were impatient to attend the Summit, didn’t have the means to do so, but manage to receive funding to live that amazing experience.
To access the program, you just have to register under the Funding Assistance Path.
Mérida has its own airport, but it lacks international flights. Both México City and Cancún are international hubs, and from there you can fly directly to Mérida. A bus is also available to transport you from Cancún to Mérida, which takes approximately 3 hours.
We have booked rooms at various hotels around Mérida. We selected the hotels based on how close they are to the Summit’s venues and general commodities to ensure you enjoy your time in Mérida to the fullest.
Mérida has hot, rainy weather in June. You can expect rain during the day. Nonetheless, bring sunblock. Light clothing is recommended.
Mérida is one of the safest cities in México. You will be able to walk around the historic city center and visit many of its attractions without having to worry about anything. Moreover, we will have private security at every event. Be sure to enjoy your stay as most as you can!
Mérida has the best food in the world! Méxican cuisine is one of the only two to be recognized as World Heritage by UNESCO and Yucatán is one best ones in the country. You are probably quite upset about the first exclamation, but I wouldn’t be the first Mexican nor foreneer to make it, so your only chance to proof me wrong is to taste it in Mérida! There is a large variety of cuisine that covers all types of diets, including deliciously seasoned Cochinita Pibil and Lime Soup.
