Ursula Oswald Spring studied at the University of Zurich across a variety of departments including Anthropology, Literature, Philosophy, and Psychology. She holds a master’s degree in Psychology and a PhD in Social Anthropology with a specialization in Ecology.
Dr. Spring was awarded the First Chair on Social Vulnerability at United Nations University for Environment and Human Security. She is the lead author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the Special Report on Extreme Events.
As President of the International Peace Research Association, she has facilitated numerous peace and conflict resolution processes in various countries across Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.She has authored 48 books and more than 320 scientific articles and is an inspiration to women in the environmental movement.
